The Questek Group was established in 1988 by Frans Kruger, Chris Pretorius, Trevor Strugnell and George van Gils.

Initially, the company imported a premier range of television broadcast and post production equipment as well as electronic revenue management systems for the passenger transport industry. The diverse skills and experience within this team allowed the group to diversify and to become leaders within a number of specialised markets. Questek is recognised as a progressive and innovative force in the markets in which it operates. Since 1988 the company has consistently identified opportunities for growth and innovation.

1988
Questek becomes South Africa’s exclusive representative for best of breed international brands including: Barco,
 Wayfarer and Quantel. Each of these international companies are undisputed leaders in their respective fields:
Barco – visualisation technology; Wayfarer – integrated passenger transport solutions; and Quantel – state-of-the art  broadcasting solutions
1990
Questek enters into a joint venture with KwaZulu Transport to successfully customisze electronic revenue management systems for the South African market
1996
The company creates specialised units addressing specific market segments: corporate audio visual, public display systems, industrial display systems, video conferencing, revenue management and fare collection and broadcasting
1997
Telecom Namibia commissions Questek to install a control room and video wall
1998
Questek and Barco engineer and install the world’s largest video wall for Telkom
1999
Questek initiates a joint venture with black empowerment partners which focuses on developing people in the information, communication and technology sectors Sun International Casinos’ large screen displays, installed by Questek, give visitors endless entertainment throughout their venues
2001
Botswana Television commissions the first Quantel tapeless production and playout system in Southern Africa.
Robben Island’s video server and dynamic display system creates an intense experience for visitors to this landmark.
Sandton City Food Court leads the way in a massive LED video wall, supplied by Questek, to entertain and inform shoppers
2002

Questek installs the audio visual and delegate system for an auditorium for the South African Reserve Bank as well as     boardrooms and banquet halls
An audio visual and video wall solution is installed for the JSE

2003

An auditorium, training rooms and banquet halls are completed by Questek for the Botswana Defence Force
An integrated delegate system and translation facilities engineered and installed by Questek for Johannesburg City Council    streamlines the way council meetings are conducted

2004
Questek conceptualises and designs powerful visual and sound elements for the Constitutiona Hill Museum – adding great value to the visitor experience
2006
Maropeng’s achievement as voted by the British Guild of Travel Writers’ Award: ‘Best New Tourism Projects World-wide 2005’ is well-deserved. Questek is integrally involved in developing the dynamic audio visual systems for this centre
2007
Questek Customer Care (Pty) Ltd is established as an independent company within the Questek Holdings Group
QCC and Barco upgrade the video wall at Telkom's NNOC in Centurion
QCC installs a Barco Video Wall for CNBC Africa in their Sandton studios
QCC installs video walls in Uganda, Angola and Botswana
2008
QCC installs a Barco video wall in Nigeria
QCC and Barco install flight simulators in Africa
QCC and Barco install a 3D visualization system in Angola
QCC and Barco upgrade Telkom’s video wall in Centurion
QCC installs a Barco video wall for Transnet
QCC completes the installation of a Barco video wall in Botswana
QCC install Barco LED screens in the Orlando Stadium
